Flood Watch for Northeast Montana Through Monday
Areas around Glendive, Montana are under a Flood Watch through Monday afternoon on the Yellowstone River due mostly to ice jams.
According to the National Weather Service:
FLOOD WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT THROUGH MONDAY AFTERNOON FOR A PORTION OF NORTHEAST MONTANA ALONG THE YELLOWSTONE RIVER, INCLUDING THE FOLLOWING AREAS: DAWSON AND RICHLAND COUNTIES.

- ICE IS BREAKING UP AND FLOWING ALONG THE YELLOWSTONE RIVER, CAUSING ICE JAMS.
- ICE JAMS CAN BRING QUICKLY RISING WATER LEVELS.
- A FLOOD WATCH MEANS THERE IS A POTENTIAL FOR FLOODING BASED ON CURRENT FORECASTS.
- YOU SHOULD MONITOR LATER FORECASTS AND BE ALERT FOR POSSIBLE FLOOD WARNINGS.
- THOSE LIVING IN AREAS PRONE TO FLOODING SHOULD BE PREPARED TO TAKE ACTION SHOULD FLOODING DEVELOP.
