Latest Updates On Bear Trap And Pony Fires [PHOTOS]

Here's the latest info and impact of local Bear Trap and Pony fires (current restrictions, road closures, etc.)
- The portions of Norris Road in Gallatin County from Four Corners to Madison River Road is now open
- Norris Road (MT Hwy 84) from Madison River Road to Norris is still closed, as are recreation areas
- Hwy 84 from Blacks Ford to Norris is currently open
- The restrictions on Madison River Road are lifted and travel is allowed
- Recreation facilities in the Bear Trap Canyon corridor along the Madison River remain closed
- Floating the Madison River is not recommended, much of the Madison River corridor within the fire area is closed for public and firefighter safety
- All BLM lands within the Lower Madison River Special Recreation Management Area remain closed
- The Bear Trap fire is at 3000 acres (caused by fireworks)
- The Pony fire is also at 3000 acres - There are mandatory evacuations for the town of Mammoth and South Boulder. Two structures have burned, and more are threatened
