Here’s The Most Famous Restaurant in Montana? Do You Agree?
Montana is full of great restaurants, but unless you live in the state, you probably haven't heard of most of them. Some restaurants have been featured on popular TV shows, and have received national recognition. On the other hand, there are several restaurants that have earned recognition due to the fact that they have been around for so long.
Some of the best restaurants I've been to in Montana are off the radar and located in a small town along some desolate highway. It's important to not judge a book by its cover because if you do, you might miss out on a meal at a great hole-in-the-wall restaurant.
I'm a large American, and I enjoy trying new things, especially food. I never pass up the opportunity to discover a new restaurant. On my way back from Glacier National Park, my family and I stopped at Buffalo Joe's Eatery & Saloon in Dupuyer, Montana. It's a very small town. There's a post office and a restaurant, but that's about it. Personally, I thought the food at Buffalo Joe's was excellent, and we got a healthy dose of small-town hospitality. If you're ever driving through Dupuyer, I highly recommend stopping for lunch.
What Is The Most Famous Restaurant in Montana?
Honestly, it depends on who you ask, but there's one restaurant that has been serving hungry Montanans for well over 100 years. According to Historic Montana, The Montana Club is a nationally renowned social club, and it's the oldest in the Northwest. The first Montana Club opened in Helena in 1885, and it was a social club for elites and men only.
Since then, the Montana Club has expanded and there are currently five locations in Montana. All of the locations are owned by native Montanans. If the Montana Club isn't the most famous restaurant in the state, it's definitely near the top of the list.
