MT High Wind Warning Extended for Most, Until Noon Wednesday
The crazy 70 MPH wind gusts are going to stick around for much of Montana until noon on Wednesday with the High Wind Warning being extended.
Basically, every county EAST of Bozeman and Gallatin County will remain under some sort of High Wind Warning, most of which expire at noon on Wednesday 4/6.
PARK COUNTY/Livingston Area - According to the National Weather Service:
- HIGH WIND WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL NOON WEDNESDAY.
- WHAT...West winds 35 to 55 mph with gusts up to 70 mph.
- WHERE...Portions of central and south central Montana.
- WHEN...Until Noon Wednesday.
- IMPACTS...Strongest winds expected through this evening. Damaging winds may blow down trees and power lines. Power outages are possible. Travel will be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles.
- Snow combined with the strong winds will create near whiteout conditions at times in the Beartooth, Absaroka, and Crazy mountains making back country activities and travel dangerous.
BILLINGS AREA - According to the National Weather Service:
- HIGH WIND WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL NOON WEDNESDAY.
- WHAT...West winds 30 to 50 mph with gusts up to 70 mph.
- WHERE...Portions of central and south central Montana.
- WHEN...Until Noon Wednesday.
- IMPACTS...Strongest winds expected through this evening. Damaging winds may blow down trees and power lines.
- Power outages are possible. Travel will be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles.
SOUTHEAST MONTANA/CUSTER NATIONAL FOREST AREA - According to the National Weather Service:
- HIGH WIND WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL NOON WEDNESDAY.
- WHAT...West winds 35 to 45 mph with gusts up to 70 mph.
- WHERE...In Montana, Northern Big Horn, Treasure, Northern Rosebud and Southern Rosebud. In Wyoming, Sheridan Foothills.
- WHEN...Until Noon Wednesday.
- IMPACTS...Strongest winds expected through this evening. Damaging winds may blow down trees and power lines.
- Power outages are possible. Travel will be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles.
