Vehicle Smashes Through Fence and Into Home West of Bozeman
According to a Facebook post by the Hyalite Fire Department, on Tuesday evening at 6:30pm, Hyalite Fire, along with Gallatin County Sheriff's Office, Montana Highway Patrol, NorthWestern Energy, and American Medical Response were dispatched to a vehicle vs structure collision on Rowland road in the Falcon Hollow Subdivision west of Bozeman.
The pickup truck left the roadway, crashed through a fence and into a two story single family residence in the area of the garage.
The truck hit the structure right at the location of homes natural gas meter shearing off the meter and causing natural gas to leak.
The impact caused significant damage the garage area of the home and damaged a vehicle inside the garage as well.
The truck left the scene of the accident but was located soon after.
The home was occupied at the time of the collision but thankfully no one was injured and the occupants were able to quickly evacuate.
A sheriff's deputy arrived on scene first and was able to quickly shut off the leaking gas line.
Hyalite firefighters using gas detection monitors worked to clear the area around and inside the home of any gas.
Montana Highway Patrol Troopers began investigating the accident while sheriff deputies helped secure the scene.
Northwestern Energy technicians arrived and secure the damaged gas line.
This was a complex multi agency response. All responding agencies worked well together to secure the scene safely. Thankfully everyone walked away unharmed.
