VERY Windy Conditions Friday Afternoon, Gusts Up To 55 MPH
A Special Weather Statement has been issued for Southwest Montana as it will be dangerously windy this afternoon and early evening.
According to the National Weather Service:
STRONG WIND GUSTS POSSIBLE THIS AFTERNOON.
- CAUTION IS ADVISED FOR THOSE WITH OUTDOOR INTERESTS THIS AFTERNOON AS STRONG WIND GUSTS WILL BE POSSIBLE AS A COLD FRONT SWEEPS EAST ACROSS THE REGION.
- THOSE WHO MAY BE MOST IMPACTED INCLUDE THOSE WHO ARE DRIVING, AS WELL AS THOSE CONDUCTING PRESCRIBED AGRICULTURAL BURNS.
- A LINE OF SHOWERS WITH POSSIBLY A FEW EMBEDDED THUNDERSTORMS WILL MOVE QUICKLY EAST ACROSS THE REGION THIS AFTERNOON.
- THESE SHOWERS AND STORMS SHOULD BE QUITE EFFICIENT IN BRINGING MUCH STRONGER WINDS ALOFT DOWN TOWARD THE SURFACE.
- ADDITIONALLY, STRONG WIND GUSTS WILL ALSO BE FOUND ALONG AND BEHIND THE COLD FRONT.
- GUSTS UP TO 55 MPH CAN BE EXPECTED, WITH ISOLATED HIGHER GUSTS POSSIBLE ESPECIALLY ALONG AND NEAR THE ROCKY MOUNTAIN FRONT.
