
Wind Chill Advisory for Billings Area Until Noon Thursday
Already dangerous temperatures in southwest and central Montana are wreaking havoc on commutes. With another full day of brutal cold, the Billings area is under a Wind Chill Advisory until noon on Thursday.
According to the National Weather Service:
WIND CHILL ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL NOON MST THURSDAY.
- IMPACTS - POTENTIAL FOR RAPID FROSTBITE TO EXPOSED SKIN.
- TIMING - THROUGH TONIGHT.
- WIND CHILL VALUES: 25 TO 45 DEGREES BELOW ZERO.
- A WIND CHILL ADVISORY MEANS THAT VERY COLD AIR AND STRONG WINDS WILL COMBINE TO GENERATE LOW WIND CHILLS.
- THIS WILL RESULT IN FROST BITE AND LEAD TO HYPOTHERMIA IF PRECAUTIONS ARE NOT TAKEN.
