
Winter Storm Watch: Over 12 Inches Possible in Yellowstone Park by Monday Afternoon
Yellowstone National Park is under a Winter Storm Watch until Monday afternoon with heavy snow expected at times.
According to the National Weather Service:
WINTER STORM WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM THIS AFTERNOON THROUGH MONDAY AFTERNOON.
- TIMING - LIGHT SNOW WILL MOVE INTO AND INCREASE IN EXTENT ACROSS FAR WESTERN WYOMING TODAY BECOMING MODERATE TO HEAVY AT TIMES THROUGH MONDAY MORNING BEFORE TAPERING OFF MONDAY AFTERNOON.
- SNOW TOTALS - 5 TO 10 INCHES IN THE VALLEYS. 8 TO 16 INCHES IN THE MOUNTAINS.
- MAIN IMPACT. - ROADS AND HIGHWAYS WILL BECOME SLICK AND SNOW PACKED AND TRAVEL WILL BE DIFFICULT AT TIMES.
- OTHER IMPACTS - VISIBILITY MAY OFTEN LOWER TO BELOW ONE HALF MILE IN HEAVY SNOWFALL.
- A WINTER STORM WATCH MEANS THERE IS A POTENTIAL FOR SIGNIFICANT SNOW AND/OR BLOWING SNOW THAT MAY IMPACT TRAVEL.
