Winter Weather Advisories are in effect for several SW Montana counties this Sunday with up to 6 inches of snow expected in the mountains by Sunday night.

According to the National Weather Service:

WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 4 PM MST THIS AFTERNOON.

  • WHAT: Snow expected. Snow rates may approach 1 inch per hour late this morning into early afternoon, resulting in visibility below one-half mile and snow-covered roads.
  • Total snow accumulations of 1 to 4 inches, with higher amounts of 4 to 6 inches toward and along the mountains.
  • WHERE: Portions of central, north central, southwest and west central Montana.
  • WHEN: Until 4 PM MST this afternoon.
  • Plan on slippery road conditions and sharply reduced visibility.
  • A Winter Weather Advisory for snow means periods of snow will cause primarily travel difficulties.
  • The latest road conditions can be obtained by calling 5 1 1.
