Extreme cold and gusty wind through the Butte area will cause SEVERE wind chill through at least noon on Monday.

According to the National Weather Service:

WIND CHILL ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL NOON MONDAY.

  • WHAT...Very cold wind chills. Isolated wind chills as low as 35 below zero with widespread wind chills near 20 below zero.
  • WHERE...Butte, Georgetown Lake, Highway 12 Garrison to Elliston, Homestake Pass, MacDonald Pass, Highway 200 Bonner to Greenough, Highway 83 Seeley Lake to Condon, and I-90 East Missoula to Bearmouth.
  • WHEN...Until noon Monday.
  • The dangerously cold wind chills could cause frostbite on exposed skin in as little as 10 minutes.
