According to the National Weather Service:

WINTER STORM WATCH IN EFFECT FROM LATE TONIGHT THROUGH THURSDAY MORNING ABOVE 5000 FEET.

  • WHAT: HEAVY SNOW POSSIBLE. TRAVEL ACROSS MOUNTAIN PASSES MAY BE DIFFICULT AT TIMES.
  • TOTAL SNOW ACCUMULATIONS OF 4 TO 8 INCHES, WITH LOCALIZED AMOUNTS UP TO 12 INCHES, ARE POSSIBLE.
  • WHERE: GALLATIN COUNTY ABOVE 5000 FEET.
  • WHEN... A COLD FRONT COULD BRING SNOW OVERNIGHT TONIGHT, THROUGH WEDNESDAY, AND POSSIBLY LINGERING INTO THURSDAY MORNING.
  • SIGNIFICANT REDUCTIONS IN VISIBILITY ARE POSSIBLE. THOSE WITH BACK COUNTRY INTERESTS SHOULD BE MINDFUL OF INCREASED AVALANCHE DANGER.
  • A WINTER STORM WATCH MEANS THERE IS POTENTIAL FOR SIGNIFICANT SNOW, SLEET OR ICE ACCUMULATIONS THAT MAY IMPACT TRAVEL.
