Dangerous winds will affect the Salmon-Challis National Forest area in Idaho all day Sunday. Although most of the affected region is remote and forested, areas south of Hamilton Montana down to Challis are in the crosshairs.

Wind gusts of 40 MPH are expected to continue on Sunday, along with strong thunderstorms moving through the area. Lemhi County is the focus of this Wind Advisory.

Taller vehicles may get pushed around in the gusty winds, and passing semis should be done with caution. Use your headlights for extra visibility today.

Because the area is so forested, there is concern about tree limbs coming down and a few power outages are possible. Debris on roadways could also occur.
