
Sketchy Weather for Montana/Wyoming Border Through Friday Morning
If you need to drive from Billings to Sheridan and beyond, snow and wind will make travel difficult until about noon on Friday. Winter Storm Warnings are still in effect for several counties in Montana AND Wyoming.
This heavy snow event is a reminder to always keep an up-to-date safety kit in your vehicle. It's Montana - and this kind of this really isn't unusual.

- WHAT...Heavy wet snow.
- Total snow accumulations between 4 and 12 inches, greatest close to the mountains.
- Winds gusting as high as 35 mph.
- WHERE...In Montana, Bighorn Canyon and Southern Big Horn. In Wyoming, Sheridan Foothills.
- WHEN...Until noon Friday.
- IMPACTS...Roads, including Interstate 90, will be slick and hazardous.
- Travel could be very difficult with poor visibilities.
- The hazardous conditions will impact the Friday evening commute.
- ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Expect most snow to accumulate on grassy surfaces.
- The highest amounts of snow will fall along and west of I-90, especially in the higher terrain.

- IMPACTS...Travel could be very difficult to impossible on Highway 14 through Burgess Junction, due to snowy conditions and poor visibility.
- Recreation in the high country will be impacted by harsh winter conditions.
The Bighorn Mountains are not to be messed with during this storm. The worst should be done by early Friday morning, but travelers should use their very best judgement. Getting stuck in this storm will not be pleasant.
