
Advisory: 5″ to 10″ for Montana’s Pryor Mountains by Noon Tuesday
The Spring storm that has brought fresh snow to Montana, Idaho, and Wyoming, has brought far more snow than what was originally forecasted. Select mountainous areas in Montana have (or will receive) nearly a foot of fresh snow by Tuesday.

The Bozeman Pass between Bozeman and Livingston was closed for a spell on Monday afternoon and evening due to heavy, wet snow and commercial vehicle accidents.

- IMPACTS...Recreation in the high country will be impacted by accumulating snow.
- Travel will be difficult on US-14 through Burgess Junction.
- PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Slow down and use caution while traveling.

- Absaroka/Beartooth Mountains: A WINTER STORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL NOON TUESDAY.
- WHAT...Heavy snow on northeast aspects.
- Total snow accumulations between 10 and 15 inches above 7000 feet.
- Winds gusting as high as 35 mph.
- WHERE...Absaroka/Beartooth Mountains.
- WHEN...Until noon Tuesday.
- IMPACTS...Recreation in the high country will be impacted by heavy accumulating snow.
- The heavy snow will also hamper snow removal operations on the Beartooth Highway.
"A Winter Weather Advisory will be issued for any amount of freezing rain, or when 2 to 4 inches of snow (alone or in combination with sleet and freezing rain), is expected to cause a significant inconvenience, but not serious enough to warrant a warning." (National Weather Service)
