Winter Storm Watch Through Wednesday: 20″ of Snow Possible
All of Southwest Montana is facing a Winter Storm Watch until 5 p.m. on Wednesday with the the valleys facing up to 10 inches of snow and the mountains facing a possible 20 inches.
According to the National Weather Service:
WINTER STORM WATCH IN EFFECT FROM LATE MONDAY NIGHT THROUGH WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON.
- LOCATIONS - ALL OF SOUTHWEST MONTANA, PORTIONS OF CENTRAL MONTANA AND THE ROCKY MOUNTAIN FRONT.
- TIMING - PERIODS OF SNOW, HEAVY AT TIMES, WILL DEVELOP BY LATE MONDAY NIGHT AND THEN CONTINUE THROUGH WEDNESDAY.
- THIS WILL BE A PROLONGED SNOW EVENT.
- SNOW ACCUMULATIONS - 6 TO 10 INCHES OF SNOW AT LOWER ELEVATIONS... AND 10 TO 20 INCHES IN THE MOUNTAINS.
- ISOLATED HIGHER AMOUNTS POSSIBLE.
- POOR TO DIFFICULT TRAVEL CONDITIONS ARE POSSIBLE TUESDAY AND WEDNESDAY.
- TRY TO COMPLETE ANY TRAVEL OR PREPARATIONS FOR THIS STORM ON MONDAY.
- A WINTER STORM WATCH MEANS THERE IS A POTENTIAL FOR SIGNIFICANT SNOW ACCUMULATIONS THAT MAY IMPACT TRAVEL.
