The southern region of Gallatin County along the Montana/Idaho border is included in this weekend's Winter Weather Advisory. Mountain passes will experience hazardous travel conditions with up to 12" of snow possible.

According to the National Weather Service:

  • CAUTION ADVISED DUE TO SNOWFALL ACROSS THE PASSES ALONG THE MONTANA/IDAHO BORDER THROUGH SUNDAY AFTERNOON.
  • MOIST SOUTHERLY FLOW WILL BRING WET SNOW TO HIGH-ELEVATION LOCATIONS AND MOUNTAIN PASSES NEAR THE MONTANA/IDAHO BORDER FROM INTERSTATE 15 EAST TO THE WEST YELLOWSTONE AREA.
  • THE SNOW MAY BECOME HEAVIER DURING THE DAY SUNDAY BEFORE ENDING BY SUNDAY EVENING.
  • SNOW IS LIKELY TO MIX WITH OR CHANGE TO RAIN AT TIMES THROUGH NEARBY VALLEYS BELOW 6500-FT ELEVATION.
  • SNOW ACCUMULATIONS - STORM TOTAL OF 2 TO 6 INCHES AT LOWER ELEVATIONS, 6 TO 10 INCHES AT PASS LEVEL, AND UP TO 12 INCHES IN THE MOUNTAINS.
  • WINDS - SOUTH 10 TO 20 MPH WITH GUSTS UP TO 30 MPH.
