Important Alert: 10″ New Snow is Possible for Western Montana
Portions of Montana will be heavily affected by the next storm front. Higher elevations on the Montana/Idaho border could see up to 10" of heavy snow. Travel could be impacted, especially in the overnight hours. East Glacier will also be impacted.
- A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 11 AM THURSDAY FOR WESTERN MONTANA NEAR THE IDAHO BORDER.
- WHAT...Snow expected.
- Valley accumulations of 1 to 3 inches.
- Likelihood of moderate impacts in the higher terrain and mountain passes from 3 to 6 inches of snow is greater than 90 percent, and up to a 50 percent chance of isolated major impacts from 6 to 10 inches or more of snow.
- WHERE...Highway 200 Thompson Falls to Plains, Evaro Hill, Highway 200 Trout Creek to Heron, and I-90 Lookout Pass to Haugan.
- WHEN...Until 11 AM MST Thursday.
For areas surrounding East Glacier, heavy snow is also expected with up to 10" of fresh snow falling in isolated areas.
