
A Montana Triple: 8+” New Snow With Strong Winds and Risky Wind Chill
There's not one county in Montana that doesn't have a weather alert of some sort for Monday and/or Tuesday. Several inches of more snow is expected to fall across the state, with gusty winds - making for low visibility and dangerous wind chill factors.
NOTE: Some areas in Montana have more than one advisory in effect for Monday and parts of Tuesday. Travel may be difficult at times.
- Southwest Montana including Gallatin and Madison Counties:
- A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 11 PM MONDAY EVENING.
- WHAT....Snow accumulations between 2 and 4 inches at lower elevations and 4 to 8 inches possible at and above mountain pass level.
- WHERE...The Interstate 90 Corridor between Bozeman and Whitehall, Northwest Beaverhead County, and Gallatin and Madison County Mountains and Centennial Mountains.
- WHEN...Until 11 PM Monday evening.
- IMPACTS...Travel could be very difficult.
- The hazardous conditions could impact the Monday evening commute.
VERY COLD temperatures will affect many parts of northern Montana, with gusty winds creating dangerous will chill factors. Any sort of vehicle breakdown would become a very serious situation. (Details below)

- WHAT...Very cold wind chills as low as 35 below.
- WHERE...The foothills and plains adjacent to the Rocky Mountain Front, Cascade County below 5000ft, and Judith Basin County and Judith Gap.
- WHEN...Until noon Wednesday.
- IMPACTS...The dangerously cold wind chills as low as 35 below zero could cause frostbite on exposed skin in as little as 10 minutes.
