Flood Watch In Effect For Jefferson River Due To Ice Jams Through Tuesday 12/13/2011

We forget that flooding can occur in the Winter too....and there is currently a Flood Watch in effect for the Jefferson near Three Forks. The official warning is as follows:

The Flood Watch continues for
the Jefferson river near Three Forks
* until Tuesday afternoon.
* At 6:00 PM Monday the stage was 7.7 feet.
* Flood stage is 8.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is possible.
* Forecast... flood stage could be reached later tonight or on
Tuesday. However... ice jams are unpredictable... and can form
and break up quickly.
