As light snow falls around the hills surrounding Bozeman, the Beartooths could see up to a foot of fresh snow by Sunday afternoon.

According to the National Weather Service:

  • WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL NOON SUNDAY.
  • WHAT...Periods of snow expected. Total snow accumulations of 6 to 12 inches.
  • Heaviest amounts on north facing slopes above 6500 feet.
  • WHERE...Absaroka/Beartooth Mountains.
  • WHEN...Through noon MDT Sunday.
  • IMPACTS...Travel will be difficult at times. The Beartooth Pass is closed. Recreation activities will be affected by wet snow, freezing temperatures and poor visibility.
  • Travel and recreation activities may be difficult.
  • Expect freezing temperatures with snow covered roads and limited visibility at times.
